I’ve been putting it off because I don’t know what to say. Or maybe I simply don’t want to say it.
I lost the light of my life two weeks ago. My Gambit, my Wimby Wamby.

I made it through a lot of first without-you’s that I never thought would hurt so bad. How unnerving it is to make food and eat alone. How quiet it is when I walk in the door. Using the bathroom alone. Staying in bed for as long as possible without a paw in my face begging for attention.

We may have only had five years together, but even if I knew that was all we had when I first saw him at the shelter & he curled into my arm, I’d do it all over again.
